Today’s fave five were:
- Not waking up to bad dreams.
- Being able to see sunshine most of the day long from an open office window!
- Looking forward to the goodies coming my from Swap-Bot in the mail. Today I received two of four I’m expecting: 1) my “free theme” inchies and one of the 2 of spades APC. Both were quite fun to open! CraftyWench you had made my inchies went with a vampire/faerie theme also incorporating a lot of green into the work which I love. She clearly had checked out my loves/likes list and drawing from that came up with something really fun and unique with me in mind. She glued the inchies down onto a giant puzzle piece which was so radically different than what I had done with the inchies I had made that I was surprised at first. But I think it’s really neat to see how she worked with a really solid theme and created an easily displayable work of art. THANKS CRAFTYWENCH (Christina)! My APC from Cocoa is really awesome too. I had checked out her website and actually was pretty sure I saw the two APC’s she had made. I ended up getting the one I secretly hoped would come my way, so that was pretty nifty. Anyway, a big thanks to both ladies for helping brighten my day and giving me something to look forward to in the mail! (click on the images below to enlarge them – my apologies the blurriness…I’m using my scanner since I can’t find my digital camera and it’s just not as clear as a camera would be)

- Having a running partner who is really working hard and kicking some ass! Way to go MU. Tonight we had our fourth run – what I was aiming to be a two miler turned into a three miler (accidentally) and we NAILED it! It was 30 minutes exactly and that was with a couple extra long walk breaks. It was not my intention to run quite that fast, but I felt like we were running at a comfortable (and slow enough) pace for a newbie. I’m going to work on bringing it down a notch, but really, we were doing a run/walk ratio of 6:1 so I guess I ended up feeling too rested and pushed it a bit to hard. Regardless, Mike did beyond awesome and I’m continuously encouraged by his natural ability. This is gonna be a great running season I think!
- McDONALD’S HOT FUDGE SUNDAE FOR DESSERT!!! Yeah, that’s right baby…I had me some Micky D’s. YEAH! I don’t know how many calories were in that bad boy, but it tasted so good…(there goes the work out from tonight!). I’ve been good all week though, taking the stairs at work, keeping a VERY LOW sugar diet (I’m killing myself with this) and being very mindful of what I eat. I think we both deserved a treat, and since I’m the only one who really has to work on slimming down, I think I’ll take the hit on the hot fudge as long as I work on being good the rest of the week. It tasted GOOOOOOD (almost as good as skinny feels

Today’s fave five are:
- Not having to deal with too many crazy requests at work today.
- And easy commute into work (because of MLK Day) which made bringing in my paper sculpture that will be on display at NMH this week much much easier!
- My lovely friends from Argo Tea…even when I don’t go down and get a beverage, they manage to brighten my day – I love them all! THEY ARE SO GREAT!
- Having people in my life I can be genuinely happy about…you all should know who you are…
- Text messages that make me happy. Good night messages, good morning message, just thinking about ya messages…whatever the message may be, I really am excited to receive them if they are full of love…
- …and speaking of love we have a sixth category today…I re-watched When Harry Met Sally. That movie tickles my heart. Sometimes it may take years for people to connect that should have, but when they do, it’s pretty amazing how a long time friendship can blossom into something so much more than either one involved could have expected or imagined…not that I know anything about that right now…

Today’s fave five are:
- Waking up to morning kisses and a see you soon from my handsome who I can never help but notice looks incredibly attractive even when in his none “cool guy” jeans…waking up like this, only to fall back asleep and wake back up to the same treat is really the best…makes a girl never want to get out of bed.
- Running three miles that made me laugh because the whole time I either had tears streaming down my face, my nose was dripping with snot (I’m creating a pretty image here) or drool was pooling in my mouth (sexy images right?) which made it impossible NOT to laugh only worsening my situation. BUT, the run was completed and 2.99 miles were clocked so I feel pretty darn good considering how out of shape I am and normally how bad I am about doing my training runs…bring on the snot baby, this girls get’n in shape!
- Being treated to a VERY DELICIOUS “signature” hazelnut hot chocolate from Starbucks! Yummy yummy, I don’t care how many calories were in that bad boy – I NEEDED THE WARMTH!
- Spending a lot of time goofing off today; watching football, playing bejeweled (again), watching the Golden Globes (YAY JEFF BRIDGES ON HIS WIN, Booooo James Cameron for still being a douche bag), eating lots of food (tea, wonton soup, cereal, eggs and “sausage” and more cereal) and catching up a bit on the phone with one of my besties…
- Hitting up my studio and finishing up the two APC’s (altered playing cards) I was working on for one of my Swap-Bot swaps. I think I’m pretty happy with how the two of them turned out and I look forward to how working on these small projects is helping to unlock my creative blockages.

Today’s fave five are:
- Being able to sleep in a little considering I was up late throwing darts most of the night. I love sleeping in and good morning snuggles!
- Finally getting out of bed to hit up COSTCO for the first time in months – it’s amazing how much money you really can save if you shop there wisely…I feel like I have saved a lot of money now on future lunches that will be made at home and brought to work instead of bought at work…also, I just had a general good time enjoying a slice of Costco pizza and a coke, getting a fashion show of glasses and hoping from aisle to aisle with a smile on my face.
- Walking into JoAnn Fabrics and walking out with goodies for thesis INCLUDING a dress form (FINALLY)…it’s not the best or really that great, but it was “affordable” and I desperately need one at this point.
- Getting home and taking out trash, doing the dishes, spending some time with the animals and then enjoying a dungeness crab for dinner.
- Ending the evening lounging on the couch, forensic shows on in the background, completely entranced with bejewelled on MU’s iPod of Power before loosing said “power” and forcing myself to go to bed…all in all and really classic day (much of which was spent avoiding any real thesis work. le sigh…)

Today’s fave five are:
- Making it to the end of the week despite being BEYOND exhausted from lack of sleep and still being sick (stupid cold).
- Mailing off my inchies to Brazil and being able to check “Sent Swap” on my first swap-bot trade ever! Can’t WAIT to see what I end up getting in the mail!!!
- Getting my first APC in the mail from someone I met on Swap-bot who hooked me up with an Ave of Spades since I missed the first swap of the deck – included in the mini mail care package were two teas geared towards feeling better (Throat Comfort & Breathe Deep), a scrap of patterned paper to use for future works and puffy sticker snow flakes just to help brighten my day. THANK YOU ARTY!!! I absolutely LOOOOOVE my handmade envelope full of goodies. It totally helped me feel better!!!
- A really great second run of the season! This time we ran in Lakeview and did 2 miles. It was cold, but MU felt much better and had no back pain (serious bonus!) and did an incredible job. We upped the pace a little too and ended up running two miles in about 23 minutes or so. JOB WELL DONE US!!!
- Playing hair salon with Amanda, testing out a new product called Liquid Keratin. It’s supposed to help people straighten their hair and strengthen it while also offering the promise of less frizz and flyaways for those who use it (including us curly haired girls)…can’t WAIT to give it a try myself!
- Enjoying some vanilla flavored vodka and coke (I was good ALL WEEK eliminating sugar from my diet…I deserved a little treat in moderation) while practicing darts with the man who continues to dominate me in ANY game we seem to play…he is a worthy adversary, I know I will learn much from getting my ass kicked so many times repeatedly! But truth be told, I am really starting to like darts the more I understand the object of each game and how to play them. Too bad I still suck at throwing, but MU seems to think I show some natural skill, so hopefully I’ll be decent sometime in my near future!

Today’s fave five are:
- Getting a lot done at work.
- Feeling like Sasha’s herbs are starting to kick back in.
- A third successful day of eating healthy and keeping it to a low sugar, under 1200 caloric intake kinda day!
- Getting the BEST text message in a little while – so unexpected but so completely brightened my night. I know a gent who’s quite handsome and I like to see his face…
- Suffering through creative blocks finally to make a break through. Finishing up the inchies I was working on for my first swap-bot swap I felt like hitting my head on my art table repeatedly till SOMETHING happened. But I didn’t hit my head, instead I worked through the block and would up making a few little pieces of art I’m genuinely happy with.

Today’s fave five are:
- Day two of eating right going well! Two banana breakfast, more tea, more water, 1200 caloric intake or less, a homemade tuna fish sandwich for lunch (did you know two slices of bread contain 180 calories? HOLY HECK!) with steamed broccoli and a few apricots for some sweetness I craved during the day.
- People enjoying the candy jar on the top of my work desk.
- Still feeling great after yesterdays run – AND feeling like my blasted cold is FINALLY out of my system!
- Making it into my studio again for some quality time on work!
- MY COMPUTERS DOCKING STATION ARRIVING!!! I got that bad boy all hooked up again and it’s AMAZING the difference it makes for my computer set up! My HD computer screen is THE SH*T! It looks soooo amazing, I like I can breath again when working on my computer. Everything is all set up again so now I can print easily, scan documents, edit more easily and even watch movies or TV shows while in bed! WOO HOO!!! MY DOCKING STATION ROCKS. Now if only my mac didn’t wanna act like a little b*tch we’d be perfect here… (Despite my lemon, I still love Macs and prefer them over PC’s…yeah, I said it.)

Today’s fave five are:
- Getting to work on time. (This is a big accomplishment for me lately)
- Waking up to a cute little Sasha licking my face and purring in my ear.
- Day one of better food choices going well. Started the day with two bananas, drank a TON of water and green tea, avoided anything heavy in sugar (boo, no lattes) and consumed under 1200 calories! WOO HOO!
- Quick phone calls that make me happy.
- An AWESOME first training run of 2010. We didn’t run a huuuuge distance, nor did we run terribly fast, but MU broke in his new running shoes and I broke out with my winter running gear and it felt GREAT to hit the trails! I’m really impressed with my trainee…I have high hopes for his 2010 running season!!! (And he’s a first time runner!)

Today’s fave five are:
- Having an easier day at work.
- Know that when you are being told you looked pretty that it was actually meant, and trusting the person who said it to you to mean what they say…this is being a day late, but better late than never.
- Preparing for tomorrows first training run and finding MOST of the items I’ll be needing for it.
- Hitting up my studio to work on my first Swap-Bot trade.
- Sasha acting a *bit* more natural on her own…waiting for more of her herbs to come back in!!!

Today’s fave five are:
- Waking up sober! Not that I don’t normally wake up sober, but after yesterdays marathon escapades in places that serve copious amounts of alcohol, I’m impressed with myself and my ability to “pace”.
- Waking up to a smile
- Yummy Yummy, my absolute FAVORITE Chinese food restaurant. Located in Lakeview/Wrigleyville, they are the only place to date that has a HUGE vegetarian menu selection and not just of veggies! They offer soy gluten products and therefor the range is endless! I enjoyed my two of my four favorite dishes today: shrimp fried rice, vegetarian wonton soup OF AWESOME and walnut shrimp. The only thing I didn’t order today was the green curry soy gluten fried rice. That stuff is the freaking bomb! Yummy Yummy isn’t “cheap”, but it’s worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!!!
- Even though I’m now officially sick and not feeling (or looking) so great because my cold is trying to kick my ass still getting snuggles and couch cuddles despite me running the risk of infecting my cuddler…MU, you’re a keeper.
- Last, but certainly not least, my absolute FAVORITE THING of the entire day/weekend/week/month-so-far was LADY GAGA in concert!!! OMG – that woman is freaking UNBELIEVABLE. A close second to Lady Gaga in concert is Lady Gaga’s Ass in concert. OH.MY.GOD! That girl has a backside that kills…I couldn’t stop staring. Seriously. With an ass like that, I don’t know how anyone around her gets anything done! It’s mesmerizing. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT HER BACKSIDE, let’s just talk about how freaking incredible her show was?!!! Despite being hella sick by the time I got to the Rosemont Theatre, I mustered up the strength to get my groove on when the preshow music was best of Michael Jackson. I’m bummed I wasn’t feeling well enough to don my sequins or crazy sparkles, but I had a blast watching and admiring everyone else. The trannies were clearly there to outdo everyone else and that was freaking fabulous! Oh man…it.was.GREAT! I loved it. Anyway, Gaga is a killer performer. She outdoes Madonna like it’s easy. And it probably is for her. I’ll try to write a proper “review” later, but for the meanwhile, know this people – Lady Gaga is a MUST SEE SHOW. If you can see her- DO! DO IT NOW!!! Wow…I’m still so inspired and completely blown away. What a performance. I’m totally smitten with the very blonde Fame Monster and am THRILLED to be one her little monsters…roar!
