I haven’t been able to write ANY of what all I’ve wanted to on here as of late. My apologies…But this pounding in my chest tells me that I’ve just GOT to say SOMETHING about all this election madness!!!
Tonight is the Obama Rally at Grant Park…I can’t imagine really being anywhere else for this…unless of course when we get there I can’t see ANYTHING and therefor we move locations to another place with tv and cable and screens etc. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT’S HAPPENING!
This is, by far and without a doubt or a question, the biggest political happening in my life time, and honestly, the life time of MANY people age 40 and down!!! This is so incredible…and we are going to witness it. WHATEVER HAPPENS, whatever the outcome, this is an election for the history books…and I hope that I end up being happy with how this historical event plays out.
Meghan and I are taking a gamble and heading down to Grant Park in hopes of scoring tickets into the event…I think it will be amazing if we DO get in!!! I think it will be amazing to be around the energy that will be gathering there in support of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
Meg and I almost have our shirts READY TO GO! Now, we have to piece the rest together and BE THERE…be a PART OF HISTORY!
We are ALL apart of history…even if we chose NOT TO VOTE.
God…I could be sick. I mean it seriously…I could totally loose my soup right now I’m so nervous and anxious and terrified and excited!
I have friends, good friends, people I trust and respect who think we have this thing (by we I mean Obama supporters) in the bag, but while my heart and optimism want to give into this good feeling, the “realist” in me is far too scared to give in to any premature celebrating. Don’t count your chickens until the eggs HATCH!
In my mind and in my opinion, we (Obama supporters) do not have a *win* until this election is closed and we have a total on the votes…and despite what the “polls” have been saying, I’m scared that what happened in the last election will happen again; people lie saying they’ve voted one way when clearly they had to have voted another way or people just don’t come out and vote!
I’m keeping my fingers crossed…crossed and hopeful that soon, we will be on a path to bettering this country, and our current situation (and status) in the world. I’m all for change. All for it!
Now, I must get off here and run home so that I can Barack the Vote, and then hopefully find a ticket into the rally!!!
